Dr. Muhammad Umar

Dr Muhammad Umar is a specialist minimally invasive surgeon who trained in Pakistan and has worked in both Pakistan and the UAE since 2016. He holds fellowships from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan and the American College of Surgeons, and is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He also completed a University diploma in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery from Strasbourg, France. At Mediclinic in Dubai, he manages both routine inpatient cases and emergency surgical conditions.

Dr Umar specializes in keyhole techniques for hernia repair (umbilical, inguinal, ventral and incisional hernias), gallbladder disease, and anorectal conditions such as haemorrhoids, anal fissures and fistulas. He also performs diagnostic laparoscopy, treats skin lumps and bumps, and manages superficial wound care. He is actively involved in training junior doctors and medical students, and holds an Adjunct Clinical Lecturer position at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Beyond clinical work, Dr Umar maintains an active research and publication record, regularly presents at surgical conferences, and serves as a peer reviewer for indexed scientific journals. He has a strong interest in surgical innovation, medical education, and the application of artificial intelligence and data science in surgery.
