Dr. Haytham El Salhat

Dr. Haytham El Salhat is a consultant surgeon and head of surgical departments at Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital in Abu Dhabi. He is a Hungarian-trained specialist with nearly 20 years of experience in surgery, with the majority focused on surgical oncology (cancer surgery). Dr. El Salhat diagnoses, stages and treats cancers of the gastrointestinal tract, pancreas, and breast, and has particular expertise in rare and complex malignancies.

He performs laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery and complex abdominal procedures. His special interests include neuroendocrine tumours, GISTs (rare stomach and bowel tumours), and soft tissue sarcoma. He is especially committed to early detection and successful treatment of breast cancer, and performs oncoplastic breast surgery—combining cancer removal with reconstructive techniques to preserve appearance.
