Dr. Yoosuf Shan

Dr Yoosuf Shan is an orthopaedic surgeon with over 16 years of experience in complex spine and joint surgery. He trained at Thrissur Government Medical College in India and completed his Masters in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Malaya. He has received specialist training in spine surgery from surgeons in Malaysia (2010, 2011) and France (2013, 2017), building a deep expertise in both surgical technique and conservative management.

Before joining NMC Healthcare in Al Ain in 2022, Dr Shan was a leading orthopaedic and spine surgeon in the Maldives, where he worked at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital—the country's main referral centre. There he performed over 1,000 major spine surgeries alongside general orthopaedic procedures. He treats back pain, neck pain, and other joint and bone problems using both traditional surgery and minimally invasive techniques, tailoring his approach to each patient's needs.
