Dr. Atheer Al Ansari

Dr. Atheer Al-Ansari is a consultant rheumatologist with 17 years of experience in the field. He originally graduated from Baghdad Medical School and trained extensively in the UK, initially in general medicine before specialising in rheumatology at East Midlands Deanery. He achieved both his FRCP (Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians) from London and Dublin and completed his CCST (Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training) in the UK. He has been based in the UAE since 2013, where he practices at Mediclinic Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Al-Ansari has broad expertise across inflammatory joint conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, lupus (systemic lupus erythematosus), and ankylosing spondylitis. Beyond arthritis, he manages autoimmune disorders affecting various organs, and provides specialist care for conditions like eye inflammation (uveitis), allergic skin reactions (urticaria), and inflammatory chest conditions. He also treats non-inflammatory joint problems such as osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, and regional pain syndromes, and has extensive experience performing joint and tendon injections for localised symptom relief.

Dr. Al-Ansari holds leadership positions in regional rheumatology, serving as Head of the Scientific Committee for the Emirates Society for Rheumatology and leading organisation of the Asian and Pacific Rheumatology Conference in Dubai. He is recognised by major insurers (DAMAN and NASS) as an expert for second opinions in complex cases.
