Dr. Avinash Vernekar

Dr. Avinash Vernekar is a Consultant Radiologist at Burjeel Day Surgery Center with 19 years of clinical experience in advanced diagnostic imaging. He holds an MD in Radio Diagnosis from Grant Medical College, Mumbai, and completed a Master's in Medicine (M. Med.) in Radiology from the National University of Singapore. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) and registered with the UK's General Medical Council (GMC).

Dr. Vernekar provides comprehensive radiological services including general X-ray, CT, MRI, and ultrasound across multiple specialties. His main areas of focus are body imaging (liver and kidney assessment), neuroimaging (brain and spine), musculoskeletal radiology (bones and joints), and cardiac imaging—including pediatric heart CT, adult coronary artery imaging, and donor organ assessment for transplant. He interprets complex cross-sectional imaging and stays current with the latest diagnostic techniques through regular professional development.
