Dr. Sophia Shamshad

Dr Sophia Shamshad is a UK-trained family medicine consultant based at King's College Hospital London (Dubai). She graduated from Queen Mary University of London with a degree in medicine and surgery in 2010, and completed her MRCGP qualification in 2015. She is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners in the UK. Her hospital training covered accident and emergency, geriatrics, general medicine, paediatrics, psychiatry, and gynaecology, giving her a wide foundation across acute and chronic care.

Before moving to Dubai, Dr Shamshad was the lead clinician for clinical governance at a Central London NHS practice, where she built substantial experience in primary care leadership and patient management. She continues to practice in the NHS in London, keeping her clinical knowledge current with evidence-based guidelines. Her practice covers acute medical problems, elderly care including dementia, rheumatological conditions such as fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue, chronic disease management (high blood pressure, thyroid disease, asthma, COPD), women's health, mental health, and functional medicine.

Dr Shamshad is known for her ability to engage with patients and break down complex medical issues into clear, practical solutions. She approaches care from a patient-centred perspective, drawing on her breadth of training and clinical governance experience.
