Prof. Sammy Hanna

Prof. Sammy Hanna is a consultant orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee surgery, with more than 18 years of clinical experience in the UK and Canada. He trained at the Royal National Orthopedic Hospital in London and completed advanced fellowship training in joint replacement at the University of Western Ontario in Canada. Before joining HealthPoint in January 2022, he maintained a busy practice in London, including work at the Royal London Hospital (the UK's largest level 1 trauma centre) and private practice at the London Clinic and Cromwell Hospital.

Prof. Hanna treats the full range of hip and knee conditions, from routine joint replacements to complex revision surgery and sports-related injuries. He specializes in primary, complex, and revision hip and knee replacements using both traditional and minimally invasive techniques, including robotic-assisted surgery. He also performs arthroscopic keyhole surgery for cartilage and ligament injuries, and manages complex lower-limb fractures. He holds FIFA certification in football medicine and has particular expertise in sports-related hip and knee injuries.

As a senior clinical lecturer at Queen Mary University of London, Prof. Hanna remains active in research and teaching, with a focus on joint replacement outcomes and implant performance. He has published over 65 peer-reviewed papers in international orthopedic journals.
