Dr. Fawaz A-Hazaa

Dr. Fawaz A-Hazaa is an experienced orthopaedic spine consultant currently at Medcare Hospital, Sharjah. He trained extensively in Germany, completing his medical degree at Universität des Saarlandes followed by residency in orthopaedic surgery and earning his Facharzt (specialist) degree in orthopaedic surgery and traumatology from Landärztekammer Baden-Württemberg. Over nearly two decades in Germany, he held senior positions including Head of Unit and consultant roles at leading academic hospitals affiliated with Heidelberg University, Kiel University, and other major centres.

Dr. A-Hazaa has deep expertise across the full spectrum of spine surgery. He treats spine deformity, degenerative disc disease, cervical disc disease, disc herniation and prolapse, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis (spine slippage), spine fractures, nerve compression conditions like myelopathy and radiculopathy, cauda equina syndrome, and chronic back and neck pain. He also manages adjacent segment disease (degeneration near previous surgery sites).

In the UAE, he became Head of the Ortho Spine Surgery Unit at Emirates Health Services, Al Qassimi Hospital before joining Medcare. He is well-suited for patients needing complex spine surgery, diagnostic clarity on degenerative conditions, or management of long-standing back and neck problems.
