Dr. Faek EL Jamali

Dr Faek EL Jamali is a Staff Physician in the Colorectal Surgery Department at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's Digestive Disease Institute. With 34 years of experience, he is a tenured Professor of Surgery who trained in general surgery at the University of Connecticut, completed a surgical oncology fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh, and advanced training in minimally invasive colorectal techniques at IRCAD in Strasbourg, France. He spent 18 years at the American University of Beirut Medical Center, where he progressed to Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs, before joining Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (in partnership with Mayo Clinic) as senior consultant and chief of colorectal surgery, and relocated to Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi in February 2023.

Dr EL Jamali's practice focuses on surgical treatment of colorectal and peritoneal cancers using advanced techniques. He has performed more than 1,000 minimally invasive colorectal resections (over 100 robotic procedures) and more than 100 cytoreductive surgery procedures with heated intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC). His expertise spans robotic and laparoscopic colon removal, transanal endoscopic surgery, sphincter preservation techniques, and colorectal cancer screening.
