Dr. Gaurav Muktesh

Dr. Gaurav Muktesh is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist at Al Zahra Hospital Dubai, with over 10,000 endoscopic procedures and more than 2,500 endoscopic ultrasound procedures to his credit. He trained at two prestigious institutions: the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGI) Chandigarh in India, where he completed his DM in Gastroenterology and later served as faculty mentoring trainee gastroenterologists, and the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam for advanced endoscopy fellowship.

Dr. Gaurav specializes in both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and is one of the few specialists in the UAE offering Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy (POEM)—an advanced keyhole endoscopic procedure for treating achalasia (a rare swallowing disorder). He has extensive experience managing complex inflammatory bowel disease including ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease, as well as other common gastrointestinal conditions. His procedural expertise spans colonoscopy, ERCP (bile duct interventions), capsule endoscopy, and endoscopic removal of early cancerous growths.
