Dr. Denesh Gopalan

Dr. Denesh Gopalan is a consultant gastroenterologist with almost 25 years of medical experience, including over 20 years specialising in gastroenterology and digestive health. He trained in the UK and Ireland, completing specialty training at leading Dublin hospitals (Beaumont and Mater), and has worked across multiple countries including the UK, Ireland, and Saudi Arabia. He has been based in Dubai for over 10 years, where he continues to practise at King's College Hospital London Dubai.

Dr. Gopalan specialises in advanced endoscopic procedures — the use of small cameras to diagnose and treat conditions inside the digestive tract. He has particular expertise in controlling serious bleeding from the stomach and bowel using endoscopic techniques, treating haemorrhoids (painful veins in the anus), and managing complex cases such as strictures (narrowed passages) and colonic obstruction using stents. He also performs capsule endoscopy (swallowing a small camera pill to examine the small bowel) and pH monitoring to assess acid reflux, and manages difficult-to-treat H. pylori infections.

Dr. Gopalan is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Glasgow) and a member of the American Gastroenterological Association and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He is fluent in English, Arabic, Hindi, and Malayalam, making him accessible to a diverse patient population.
