Dr. Abdulrahman Alkard

Dr. Abdulrahman Alkard is a Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon at Medcare Medical Centre in Jumeirah, with over 22 years of clinical experience across the Middle East. He trained in Syria, earning his medical degree and Master's in Orthopaedics and Traumatology from Damascus University, then built his career in Saudi Arabia where he led the Orthopaedics Department at Saudi German Hospital, Riyadh, before relocating to the UAE.

Dr. Alkard specializes in arthroscopy (keyhole surgery) of the knee, shoulder, ankle and elbow, as well as minimally invasive endoscopic spine surgery. He has performed over 1,000 ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) reconstructions and 3,000 knee arthroscopies. His practice also covers sports injuries, neck and lower-back disc disorders, spine stabilization, paediatric orthopaedic conditions, and ultrasound assessment of the hip and shoulder in infants and children.

He serves as an active member of several international professional bodies, including ISAKOS (International Society for Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine) and the AO Spine Society. He has worked as a team physician for the Syrian National Football Team and as an arthroscopy instructor internationally. Dr. Alkard is fluent in both Arabic and English, and delivers evidence-based, patient-centred care.
