Dr. Obaid Ullah Khan

Dr. Obaid Ullah Khan is a Consultant Pulmonologist at NMC Royal Hospital, Khalifa City, with 19 years of clinical experience. He is board certified in respiratory and internal medicine in the United Kingdom, holding fellowships from the Royal College of Physicians of Glasgow (2021) and the UK (2024). Dr. Khan trained at Hull University Teaching Hospital and previously worked as a Consultant Pulmonologist at Diana Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby, where he also served as an Honorary Lecturer at Hull York Medical School.

Dr. Khan performs advanced diagnostic bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) with biopsy, transbronchial lung biopsy, pleural procedures including talc pleurodesis, chest ultrasound, and placement of long-term indwelling pleural catheters for fluid around the lungs caused by cancer. He manages chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, interstitial lung disease, bronchiectasis, sleep apnea, cough disorders, and helps with lung cancer screening.

Dr. Khan has established EBUS services at his hospital and trained other doctors in these techniques. He also set up pleural services and led the lung health check programme for early detection of lung cancer. He is fluent in English and Urdu and brings UK-trained expertise in both diagnostic and interventional pulmonary medicine.
