Dr. Taj Mohammed Fiyaz Chowdhry

Dr. Taj Mohammed Fiyaz Chowdhry is a Consultant Thoracic Surgeon with 15+ years of clinical experience, currently leading the thoracic surgical team at Burjeel Specialty Hospital in Abu Dhabi. He trained extensively in the UK, working as a senior trainee and fellow at leading hospitals before taking up his consultant position.

Dr. Chowdhry specialises in complex chest surgery using minimally invasive techniques. His areas of expertise include keyhole and robot-assisted lung surgery, treatment of lung cancers (thoracic oncological resections), lung volume reduction for emphysema, chest wall surgery, emergency trauma surgery, and management of difficult airways. He has particular experience with advanced techniques such as video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS), non-intubated VATS, and uniportal approaches.
