Dr. Nader Hebela

Dr. Nader Hebela is a Staff Physician in the Neurosurgery Department at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's Neurological Institute. He brings 26 years of clinical experience, with deep expertise in spine surgery developed through training at leading US institutions including the University of Pennsylvania and St. Joseph Medical Center's renowned Scoliosis and Spine Center. Before relocating to Abu Dhabi, he oversaw the Spine Surgery Program at Philadelphia Veterans Affairs Medical Center, managing spine services across four Veterans Affairs hospitals in southeastern Pennsylvania and Delaware.

Dr. Hebela performs both spinal reconstructive surgery and orthopedic trauma procedures. His clinical interests extend to degenerative disc disease and nerve injuries. Beyond clinical work, he has contributed to basic science and translational research, developing animal models of disc degeneration and regeneration, and received both Merit Review funding and a Department of Defense grant to support this work. He has collaborated with University of Pennsylvania engineering faculty on sciatic nerve injury research.

He is actively involved in medical humanitarian work, volunteering with relief organizations in South Africa, Cambodia, Afghanistan, and Gaza. Dr. Hebela is fluent in English and Arabic, and currently resides in Abu Dhabi.
