Dr. Maziar Nikberg

Dr. Maziar Nikberg is a Senior Consultant General Surgeon with 19 years of specialist experience in general and colorectal surgery. He holds European Board Certification in Coloproctology and Swedish Board Certification in General Surgery, along with a PhD from Uppsala University. He trained and practiced at high-volume centres in Sweden, where he developed extensive expertise across the full spectrum of colorectal conditions.

Dr. Nikberg specialises in advanced colorectal surgery including cancer treatment, rectal surgery, complex benign bowel disease, diverticulitis, and piles/anorectal disorders. He performs high-volume surgery using open, keyhole (laparoscopic) and robotic techniques, and has particular expertise in minimal invasive polyp removal (TAMIS), hernia and abdominal wall repair, stoma complications, and advanced endoscopy including treatment of gastrointestinal bleeding. He also manages emergency trauma and general surgery cases.

Dr. Nikberg has held senior leadership roles, including Head of the Colorectal Unit at Västmanlands Hospital in Sweden. He is an Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer at Uppsala University, and trains other surgeons as a robotic colorectal surgery instructor.
