Dr. Byron N. Kalliatakis (ID*)

Dr. Byron Kalliatakis is an interventional cardiologist with many years of experience performing cardiac catheterisations (imaging and treatment procedures inside the heart) and coronary interventions (opening blocked heart arteries). He trained at the University of Witwatersrand Medical School in Johannesburg and completed his residency at Baragwanath Hospital. He is a Fellow of the College of Physicians South Africa and a Member of the Royal College of Physicians, UK.

For 14 years, Dr. Kalliatakis worked in private practice at Flora Clinic in Johannesburg, one of South Africa's busiest private cardiac units, where he gained extensive experience across all aspects of catheter-based heart procedures. He has also participated in multi-centre research studies and registries, contributing to clinical evidence in cardiology.

Dr. Kalliatakis maintains a special interest in stem cell therapy and spent time as a visiting physician in research units across Holland, Germany, and Belgium to deepen his knowledge in this emerging field.
