Dr. Muhieddine Seoud

Dr. Muhieddine Seoud is Consultant and Chair of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi. A Lebanese-trained and internationally qualified physician, he brings three decades of clinical experience and has held leadership roles including Professor and Chair at the American University of Beirut Medical Center. He completed his medical degree at the American University of Beirut, then pursued advanced training in the United States at Eastern Virginia Medical School, the University of Kansas Medical Center, the University of Texas Health Science Center, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center—one of the world's leading cancer hospitals.

Dr. Seoud specializes in the full spectrum of women's health, with particular expertise in gynaecologic oncology (cancers of the ovaries, cervix, and other reproductive organs), complex pelvic surgery, minimally invasive keyhole procedures, placenta accreta management, and advanced operative gynaecology. He has authored around 130 peer-reviewed publications and presented his work at over 350 international conferences. He also plays a leadership role in guideline development—contributing to American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) cervical cancer guidelines and the International Federation of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) placenta accreta consensus document.

Fluent in English, Arabic, French, and Spanish, Dr. Seoud is actively involved in teaching and mentoring the next generation of doctors. He has held senior positions in professional organisations, including past president of the Lebanese Society of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians, and currently serves as president of the Lebanese Society of Gynaecologic Oncology Group and vice president of the Middle East and Mediterranean Gynaecologic Oncology Society.
