Dr. Muhammad Hayek

Dr. Muhammad Hayek is a German board-certified neurosurgeon with 19 years of clinical experience. He trained at leading academic centres in Germany, including the Functional and Stereotactic Neurosurgery Center at Freiburg University Hospital under Prof. Dr. Christoph Ostertag, and completed his residency at Klinikum Kassel. He obtained his medical licence in 2007 and has worked as a Senior Consultant since October 2018 at Frankenberg Hospital in Germany, an academic teaching hospital affiliated with Philipps University of Marburg.

Dr. Hayek treats a wide range of neurosurgical conditions including brain and spinal tumours, trauma, degenerative spine disease, infections, deformities, and chronic pain syndromes. He performs complex procedures such as minimally invasive endoscopic brain and spine surgery, skull base surgery, pituitary tumour removal via the nasal approach, spinal fusion (TLIF, XLIF, ALIF, ACDF), and pain injection techniques including radiofrequency ablation. He also manages neurosurgical patients requiring intensive care with monitoring of brain pressure and cerebrospinal fluid dynamics.

Dr. Hayek's clinical interests centre on advanced spine surgery, functional neurosurgery, stereotactic techniques, neuromodulation, and the multidisciplinary management of chronic pain. He holds additional qualifications in pain medicine and emergency medicine, and speaks Arabic, English, and German.
