Dr. Eiman Alkhatib

Dr. Eiman Alkhatib is a haematologist with 20 years of clinical experience, trained at Damascus University and the Ministry of Health in Damascus. She completed her medical degree in 1991, followed by specialist certifications in internal medicine and haematology. Dr. Alkhatib has worked extensively at the Thalassemia and Hemoglobinopathy Centre in Damascus and spent considerable time at Damascus Hospital, building deep expertise in both common and complex blood disorders.

Her clinical focus spans benign and malignant blood diseases, blood transfusion management including transfusion reactions and complications, bone marrow aspiration, and bone biopsies. She is particularly skilled in treating sickle cell disease and thalassemia and their complications. Dr. Alkhatib administers a range of haematologic treatments including chemotherapy regimens, plasmapheresis (blood plasma exchange), and iron infusions to manage chronic blood conditions.

She brings a patient-centred approach informed by her extensive background in Damascus, where she also led haematology training exams for the Syrian Board Association. She speaks both Arabic and English and is an active member of professional societies including the Syrian Association of Oncology and Haematology.
