Dr. Sanil Sathyadasan

Dr Sanil is an orthopaedic surgeon with over 20 years of experience, focusing on sports-related injuries of the shoulder and knee. He completed his MBBS at TD Medical College, Alappuzha, India in 1994, followed by his MD from the University of Kerala in 2001 and an MS in Orthopaedics from VSS Medical College, Orissa in 2005. He has undergone additional training in orthopaedic and sports surgery across multiple countries to refine his surgical skills.

Dr Sanil specialises in keyhole (arthroscopic) surgery of the knee and shoulder, using minimally invasive techniques to treat sports injuries and trauma. He manages conditions ranging from ligament tears and cartilage damage to rotator cuff injuries, helping athletes and active patients return to their previous level of function. His approach combines advanced surgical expertise with focused rehabilitation planning.

Before his current role at NMC Orthoplus Al Ain, he served as Medical Director there, bringing established leadership and a strong track record across both government and private practice in India and the UAE. He is an active member of leading international sports medicine societies including ISAKOS (International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine), ESSKA (European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy), and the Indian Arthroscopy Society.
