Dr. Mohi Mitiek

Dr. Mohi Mitiek is an American Board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon with over 25 years of experience in complex cardiac and thoracic surgery at leading academic centers in the United States. He joined American Hospital Dubai in March 2026 as Chief of Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery, leading the hospital's cardiac and thoracic surgery programs and introducing advanced surgical technologies.

Dr. Mitiek specializes in a broad range of cardiothoracic procedures including coronary artery bypass grafting (both on and off heart-lung machine), heart valve repair and replacement, aortic surgery including aortic root replacement and management of aortic dissection, and placement of mechanical heart support devices. In thoracic surgery, he performs video-assisted and robotic procedures including lung surgery, tracheal repair, and esophageal surgery. He is particularly skilled in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted techniques that avoid large open incisions, having completed advanced fellowship training in Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery at the University of Minnesota.
