Dr. Khaled Ismail

Dr. Khaled Ismail is a Staff Physician in the Critical Care Department at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, where he also serves as medical director of respiratory therapy. He brings more than 31 years of experience in critical care medicine, including 22 years working as a full-time consultant in the United Kingdom. He trained in Belgium at Katholieke University Leuven and the Royal Infirmary in Bristol, and holds fellowship credentials from the Royal College of Anaesthetists and the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine in London.

Dr. Khaled specializes in intensive care management, anaesthesia, and respiratory support. He has led large ICU units—most notably managing 92 ICU beds during the COVID-19 pandemic in Al Ain, achieving survival rates for critically ill intubated patients among the highest in the world. He is experienced in managing complex critical illnesses and has presented research at major international symposiums across Europe and the United States.

He is well suited for patients who need expert-level intensive care management, complex anaesthesia, or respiratory support, particularly those with life-threatening conditions requiring specialist ICU care. His background in both UK and UAE healthcare systems and fluency in English, Arabic, and French enable him to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations.
