Dr. Antony Thankachan Kattakayam

Dr. Antony Thankachan Kattakayam is a specialist radiologist with 12 years of experience in diagnostic and non-vascular interventional radiology. He trained in India, completing his medical degree (MBBS) in 2009 from Devaraj URS Medical College in Bangalore, followed by his specialist qualification in radiodiagnosis (MD) in 2014 from Rajah Muthiah Medical College in Tamil Nadu. He then undertook advanced training in ultrasound, with particular focus on pregnancy scanning, cardiac ultrasound, and 3D/4D imaging techniques.

From 2014 to 2019, Dr. Antony worked as a consultant radiologist at VPS Lakeshore Hospital in Kochi, India, where he built expertise across all imaging modalities and mentored postgraduate trainees. Since 2019, he has been based at NMC Royal Medical Center in Ras Al Khaimah, where he played a key role in establishing the hospital's MRI unit. He now reports across the full spectrum of imaging: X-ray and fluoroscopy, ultrasound (including pregnancy scans, cardiac ultrasound, and tissue characterization), CT, MRI, and performs non-vascular interventional procedures.
