Dr. Amitabh Kulkarni

Dr. Amitabh Kulkarni is a Consultant Nephrologist at NMC Specialty Hospital, Al Nahda, with over 15 years of clinical experience managing complex kidney disorders. He completed his MBBS and MD in Internal Medicine from the University of Mumbai, followed by specialist training in Nephrology (DNB) from the National Board of Examinations in New Delhi. He also completed a Clinical Fellowship in Nephrology at the University of Ottawa, Canada. Before joining NMC Healthcare in 2013, he served as Chief Consultant Nephrologist and Transplant Physician at Narayana Hrudayalaya Hospital in Hyderabad and as a Consultant at Apollo Hospital, also in Hyderabad.

Dr. Kulkarni specializes in managing glomerular disease (immune-related kidney conditions), interventional nephrology (kidney biopsies and access procedures), critical care nephrology (dialysis in intensive care), and transplant nephrology. He is actively involved in teaching junior doctors, dialysis staff, and nursing teams, and has presented his work at numerous national and international conferences, earning presentation awards.

He is a fluent English, Hindi, and Marathi speaker and a member of both Indian and International societies of nephrology. Dr. Kulkarni is well suited for patients needing specialist kidney care, whether for chronic kidney disease management, dialysis planning, or transplant-related issues.
