Dr. Bharat Sapra

Dr. Bharat Sapra is a Senior Consultant Gastroenterologist at Burjeel Day Surgery Center in Abu Dhabi, bringing 25 years of clinical experience to the region. He completed his doctorate in Gastroenterology at PGIMER Chandigarh, where he received a Gold Medal for academic excellence. He previously served as Senior Professor and Consultant at SMS Medical College in Jaipur and as a Consultant Gastroenterologist at NMC Royal Hospital in Dubai. He is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and the British Society of Gastroenterology.

Dr. Sapra performs advanced endoscopic procedures at high volume—approximately 400 ERCP (pancreato-biliary procedures) cases annually and around 120 endoscopic ultrasound cases per year. His clinical expertise spans hepatology, pancreatology, inflammatory bowel disease, gastrointestinal cancers, therapeutic endoscopy for both adults and children, and transplant hepatology. He is skilled in managing conditions ranging from acid reflux and bloating to jaundice, unexplained weight loss, and complex biliary and pancreatic diseases.

A distinguished teacher and examiner, Dr. Sapra has trained over 50 post-doctoral fellows in gastroenterology and therapeutic endoscopy. He holds life memberships in major Indian gastroenterology societies and has published 35 articles in leading clinical journals. He is fluent in English, Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu.
