Dr. Pushparaja Shetty

Dr. Pushparaja Shetty is a consultant neurologist with extensive experience across a wide range of neurological conditions. He completed his specialist training (DM in Neurology) from JNMC Belgaum under Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. He spent over a decade in India, joining MS Ramaiah Medical College & Hospitals as Assistant Professor in 2008 and advancing to Associate Professor and Consultant in 2010, where he was instrumental in establishing the hospital's recognized movement disorder program.

His core clinical focus is movement disorders—including Parkinson's disease, dystonia, and chorea—where he specializes in deep brain stimulation (a surgical treatment that uses implanted electrodes to manage symptoms). He performs pre-surgical planning, intra-operative monitoring, and post-surgical programming for these conditions. Beyond movement disorders, he treats headaches, epilepsy, stroke, demyelinating diseases like multiple sclerosis, nerve damage, brain and spinal infections, neck and back pain, and neuromuscular conditions including myasthenia gravis. He also established Sri Sai Neurosciences and Rehabilitation Centre in Bangalore, offering outpatient neurology services with diagnostics and neurorehabilitation support.

Dr. Shetty relocated to Dubai in 2012 and joined Mediclinic in January 2019. He holds an adjunct position as Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology at MBRU and is a member of the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society.
