Dr. Ashraf Zeid

Dr. Ashraf Zeid is a Specialist Ophthalmologist at NMC Royal Hospital Sharjah with 13 years of clinical experience in eye care. He trained at Cairo University and Ain Shams University in Egypt, where he earned his medical degree and Master of Ophthalmology. He completed advanced training in laser applications and glaucoma surgery in Switzerland, and has held leadership roles including Executive Medical Director at a major eye hospital in Egypt before moving to practice in Dubai and Sharjah.

Dr. Zeid specializes in front-of-eye (anterior segment) surgery and is particularly skilled in cataract removal with premium artificial lenses, laser vision correction (PRK, UltraLasik, FEMTOLASIK), and implantable contact lens (ICL) placement. He also diagnoses and treats keratoconus—a condition where the cornea thins and bulges—using corneal crosslinking and other advanced techniques. His practice covers a wide range of eye conditions from cataracts and refractive errors to glaucoma and corneal disease.

Dr. Zeid is a member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and serves as a scientific advisor to the Emirates Ophthalmology Society. He works in both English and Arabic, making him accessible to diverse patient populations.
