Dr. Suresh Kumar Thangavelu

Dr. Suresh Kumar Thangavelu is a critical care medicine specialist at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi, with 13 years of experience in intensive care medicine. He trained in anesthesiology and holds diplomas in critical care from both Indian and European medical boards, giving him a broad foundation in managing acutely ill patients. Before joining Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City 8 years ago, he worked as a consultant in tertiary care hospitals in India, building expertise across multiple high-acuity settings.

Dr. Thangavelu manages patients across the full spectrum of critical illness: general surgical patients, medical emergencies, heart problems, severe trauma, brain and spinal injuries, and burn injuries. He is skilled in the practical and clinical skills needed to care for patients who are deteriorating or at high risk, with particular expertise in recognizing early warning signs and preventing complications in surgical patients.
