Dr. Waseem Aziz

Dr. Waseem Aziz is a consultant neurosurgeon at Mediclinic with extensive training across three continents. He graduated from Alexandria University, Egypt in 1998 and completed specialist neurosurgery training at the faculty of medicine, where he later became a lecturer in 2010, teaching residents and young neurosurgeons. He holds both a Masters degree (2003) and an MD (2010), and has undertaken prestigious fellowships at Keio University in Tokyo (2005), the Interventional Neuroradiology department in Paris (2007), and the renowned Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona (2008–2009).

Dr. Aziz brings profound expertise in cerebrovascular disorders including stroke, stroke management, and neuro-endovascular treatment (minimally invasive catheter-based surgery for blood vessels in the brain). He performs cranial microsurgery using neuro-navigation for brain and cerebellar tumours, treats spinal conditions ranging from acute and chronic back pain to cervical and lumbar disorders using both surgical and non-surgical approaches, and specializes in spinal cord stimulator implantation for pain management and vagus nerve stimulator implantation for neurological conditions. He also performs endoscopic skull base and pituitary surgery.

Dr. Aziz is an active educator and researcher, regularly giving lectures and training to postgraduate neurosurgeons. He is a member of several international professional societies including the Pan Arab Neurosurgical Society, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS), the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, and the Japanese Society of Neurosurgery, reflecting his commitment to global neurosurgical standards.
