Dr. Oliver Yiu Hon Wah

Dr. Oliver Yiu Hon Wah is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at NMC Royal Hospital in Dubai with over 25 years of clinical experience. He graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and has built a distinguished career across public and private healthcare settings, including leadership roles in Hong Kong's public hospital system.

Dr. Oliver is recognized as a pioneer in minimally invasive trauma surgery, particularly percutaneous plate reduction techniques for fractures. His approach has reduced wound complications in lower limb fractures from 3–5% to 0% in his case series and enabled many fractures to be managed as day surgery. He is skilled in orthopaedic trauma, microvascular reconstruction (free flap surgery), maxillofacial and head and neck surgery, and acupuncture. From 2010 to 2020, he served as the only microvascular surgeon covering orthopaedic, maxillofacial, and head and neck cases at North District Hospital.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Oliver is committed to teaching and humanitarian work. He served as Training Director of the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology at North District Hospital, mentoring future surgeons. He has also volunteered with Médecins Sans Frontières in Pakistan, China, and Afghanistan, bringing surgical care to underserved communities. Fluent in English and Chinese, he integrates acupuncture into his holistic approach to patient care.
