Dr. Ahmed El-Bakoury

Dr. Ahmed El-Bakoury is a consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in pelvic, hip and knee surgeries. He trained initially at Alexandria University Hospitals in Egypt, where he earned a master's degree in trauma and orthopaedics in 2009. He then completed advanced fellowship training across the UK and Canada, including hip arthroscopy at Oxford, hip and knee replacement at Plymouth, joint reconstruction at the University of Calgary, and young adult hip surgery at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in London. He became a Fellow of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons in the UK in 2014 and was awarded his Ph.D. in pelvic ring injury management in 2016.

Dr. El-Bakoury treats a wide range of hip and knee problems using both open surgery and keyhole (arthroscopic) techniques. He specializes in primary and revision hip and knee replacements for osteoarthritis and complications from previous injuries, as well as keyhole surgery for impingement, cartilage damage and ligament tears. He also performs complex pelvic trauma surgery, cartilage repair, ligament reconstruction, and lower limb bone alignment procedures. He is particularly experienced with young adults and professional athletes.

He is an internationally recognized speaker in hip replacement and arthroscopy and has authored scientific books and published research in peer-reviewed journals.
