Dr. Ahmed Abed Anazi

Dr Ahmed Abed Anazi is a Specialist in Internal Medicine with more than 30 years of clinical experience. He trained in Iraq, gaining his medical degree from the University of Baghdad in 1983, followed by specialist training through the Iraqi Commission for Medical Specialties. He also holds membership of the Royal College of Physicians from the UK. Before joining Mediclinic Al Ain in October 2010, Dr Abed Anazi spent approximately 12 years practising in Saudi Arabia, where he developed extensive expertise in acute and chronic medical care.

At Mediclinic, he manages a broad range of conditions including diabetes, high blood pressure, chronic kidney disease, stomach disorders (including bleeding and indigestion), hepatitis, and various infections. He works across emergency urgent care, hospital wards, intensive care follow-up, and outpatient clinics. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he led a team managing critically ill patients with severe respiratory illness. He currently chairs the hospital's Antibiotic Stewardship Program (since 2019), which works to prevent antibiotic resistance and improve patient safety.

Dr Abed Anazi has particular interests in diabetes management, infectious diseases, lung conditions, and gastroenterology. He is committed to patient-centred care and improving the safety and quality of healthcare services.
