Dr. Nada Zakaria

Dr. Nada Zakaria is a consultant gastroenterologist and hepatologist with 30 years of clinical experience managing disorders of the upper and lower digestive tract and liver. She trained extensively in London at two major teaching hospitals — St George's Hospital and King's College Hospital — where she spent 7 years, and completed her CCST (Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training) in Gastroenterology and Hepatology in 2004. She is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians, London (elected 1994) and holds JAG accreditation in endoscopy.

Dr. Zakaria brings specialist expertise in emergency and complex endoscopy, including diagnostic procedures, treatment of acute bleeding in the upper and lower bowel using injections and banding, removal of swallowed foreign objects, placement of feeding tubes, and surveillance of precancerous conditions. She is also an expert hepatologist with 4 years of dedicated training at King's College Hospital's Institute of Liver Studies, where she managed liver transplant patients before and after surgery, portal hypertension (high blood pressure in liver blood vessels), fatty liver disease, chronic viral hepatitis, autoimmune hepatitis, and inherited liver conditions. She also completed 4 years in Liver Intensive Care.

Dr. Zakaria is a gastroenterology fellowship trainer and MD thesis supervisor for the Sudan Medical Specialisation Board, reflecting her commitment to mentoring the next generation. She is well-suited for patients with complex or emergency GI conditions, those needing specialist liver assessment, and international patients, as she is fluent in Arabic, English, and French.
