Dr. Albert Alahmar

Dr Albert Alahmar is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist with over nine years of experience in tertiary cardiac centres. He trained in the United Kingdom, completing his CCST in Cardiology Intervention in 2011, and currently serves as Head of the Coronary and Structural Programme at Dr Sulaiman Al Habib Hospital in Dubai. He is also a Senior Lecturer at Leicester University.

Dr Alahmar has an extensive track record in complex cardiac interventions, having performed over 3,000 procedures. His expertise spans interventional cardiology, including coronary angiography, complex coronary intervention (CTO and atherectomy), structural heart procedures (TAVI and PFO closure), and non-invasive cardiology. He also performs balloon dilation of heart valves and pericardial aspiration. His work has been recognised internationally, including coverage by major publications for pioneering a world-first coronary thrombectomy procedure on a two-year-old child with a rare heart condition.

Dr Alahmar is an active researcher and educator, having published over 30 papers in peer-reviewed medical journals and contributed chapters to medical textbooks including Oxford's geriatric medicine reference. He is a member of the European Cardiac Society and the British Cardiac Interventional Society. He is a good fit for patients needing complex coronary procedures, structural heart interventions, or specialist opinion on difficult cases.
