Dr. Michael Schenker

Dr. Michael Schenker is a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital with 19 years of surgical experience. He graduated from medical school in Germany and completed his surgical training in the United Kingdom, including a Hand Surgery Fellowship in Leeds. After serving as a Consultant at Newcastle University Hospitals from 2006 to 2013, he moved to the UAE in 2013, where he first worked at Mafraq Hospital before leading the Plastic Surgery Department at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City until 2020.

Dr. Schenker's clinical expertise spans hand surgery (both routine and trauma cases), microsurgery involving nerves and blood vessels, peripheral nerve repair, and complex reconstructive work. He has particular expertise in hidradenitis suppurativa—a challenging skin condition common in the Middle East—which he treats through surgical excision, reconstruction, and deroofing techniques. He also offers cosmetic procedures including breast surgery, body contouring, tummy tucks, abdominal wall reconstruction, hernia repair, and skin cancer surgery.

At Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, he established a dedicated microsurgical service and developed a comprehensive surgical approach to hidradenitis suppurativa.
