Prof. Charbel D. Moussallem

Professor Charbel D. Moussallem is an orthopedic and spine surgeon with fellowship training from Mayo Clinic and extensive academic credentials. He holds the rank of Associate Professor at Lebanese University and Adjunct Full Professor at Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi, and currently leads the Department of Orthopedics and Neurosurgery at Mediclinic Al Noor Hospital in Abu Dhabi. He previously served as Chairman of Orthopedics and Surgery at a major university hospital in Lebanon.

Professor Moussallem specializes in complex spine pathologies including scoliosis, degenerative disc disease, and spinal trauma. He performs advanced procedures such as microdiscectomy, artificial disc replacement (both cervical and lumbar spine), and minimally invasive spine surgery. He also has extensive expertise in joint reconstruction, including total hip and knee replacement, as well as shoulder and hand surgery. His surgical training began at Amiens University Medical Centre in France, where he developed expertise in trauma surgery and joint arthroplasty, before pursuing advanced spine training at Mayo Clinic.

Beyond clinical practice, Professor Moussallem is committed to surgical innovation and education. He has authored over 25 peer-reviewed publications and contributed to textbook chapters including the Instructional Course Lectures of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is an inventor of multiple patented orthopedic devices with CE certification for spine and scoliosis surgery. He serves as editor and reviewer for international orthopedic journals and is an active member of American, European, and French orthopedic societies.
