Dr. Danilo Arnone

Dr. Danilo Arnone is a Full Professor of Psychiatry at Mohammed Bin Rashid University in Dubai, where he joined in 2025. He brings over 25 years of clinical and academic experience, with specialist training completed at leading UK institutions including St George's University of London, Oxford, Manchester (where he earned his PhD), and the Maudsley Hospital. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

Dr. Arnone specializes in severe mood disorders and treatment-resistant depression—conditions that don't respond well to standard medication. He uses advanced diagnostic tools including neuroimaging to understand these conditions at a deeper level, and offers cutting-edge treatments such as neurostimulation and pharmacogenomics (tailoring medications based on individual genetic profiles). His expertise spans psychopharmacology, the science of psychiatric medications and their effects on the brain.

Before moving to Dubai, he held academic positions at the University of Ottawa and United Arab Emirates University, and spent many years in London at the Centre for Affective Disorders at King's College London and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. He is academically active and serves on editorial boards. Dr. Arnone is British-Italian and fluent in English and Italian.
