Dr. Jayshree A. Mutta

Dr. Jayshree Ahirrao-Mutta is a specialist ophthalmologist with 18 years of clinical experience, currently practising at NMC Royal Family Medical Centre in Abu Dhabi. She trained in India, obtaining her MBBS from Grant Medical College (JJ Hospital) in Mumbai, followed by postgraduate qualifications in ophthalmology and a specialist fellowship in glaucoma at Aravind Eye Hospital. She has also taught medical students as a faculty member at the WHO International University of Health and Sciences in Mumbai.

Dr. Ahirrao-Mutta's expertise spans a broad range of eye conditions and surgical techniques. She performs cataract surgery using phaco emulsification, advanced glaucoma procedures including laser treatment and valve implants, corneal transplants (DALK and DSEK), specialist keratoprosthetic surgery, retinal procedures, and eye-muscle surgery for alignment problems. She also treats complex surface disorders of the eye using techniques such as amniotic membrane grafting and limbal stem-cell transplantation.

She is an active member of major international ophthalmology societies and has presented research at conferences across India, receiving awards for papers on corneal grafting and inflammation. Her multilingual background (English, Gujarati, Hindi and Marathi) supports communication with diverse patient populations.
