Dr. Shuayb K Elkhalifa

Dr. Shuayb Elkhalifa is a Staff Physician in the Allergy & Immunology Department at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. He trained in internal medicine and allergy-immunology at Greater Manchester Hospitals in the UK, after earning his medical degree from the University of Khartoum, Sudan. With 14 years of experience, he previously served as a consultant immunologist and training lead at Salford Care Organization in Manchester, where he also lectured at the University of Manchester.

Dr. Elkhalifa specializes in diagnosing and managing immunodeficiency disorders (both inherited and acquired), allergic conditions, and immune-system dysregulation. He assesses and treats patients with chronic urticaria, allergic rhinitis, drug allergies, food allergies, anaphylaxis, angioedema, and eosinophilic diseases. He has published widely in leading journals including Nature and the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, focusing on immunodeficiency, autoimmunity, COVID-19 vaccination responses, and anaphylaxis.

Dr. Elkhalifa is known for innovation in allergy care—he developed the first UK drug-allergy app and has held multiple national and international leadership roles in allergy and immunology societies. He works collaboratively with primary-care physicians, pediatricians, and hospital specialists to manage complex allergic and immune-mediated conditions. He is fluent in English and Arabic.
