Dr. Bassem Makkar

Dr. Bassem Makkar is a Specialist in Orthopaedics at Medcare's Motor City branch in Dubai. He trained at Cairo University in Egypt, where he completed his medical degree and Master's in Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons (England) and the Egyptian Medical Syndicate. With 19 years of experience, he has worked across Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, including a decade as an Orthopaedic Specialist Surgeon for Egypt's Ministry of Health and several years managing the trauma team at King Abdullah Medical Complex City in Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Makkar manages the full range of orthopaedic conditions in both adults and children. His expertise includes trauma and fractures of all types, complex injuries, infected or non-healing fractures, arthritis and osteoporosis, sports injuries, and joint replacement surgery. He performs knee and shoulder arthroscopy (keyhole surgery) and has extensive experience treating post-trauma deformities and complications. He has completed specialist training in basic life support and trauma care.
