Dr. Carla Francisco Rodrigues

Dr. Carla Francisco Rodrigues is a Consultant in Maternal and Foetal Medicine at NMC Royal Hospital with over 6 years of clinical experience in obstetrics and gynaecology. She trained in Lisbon, Portugal, where she completed her medical degree at the University of Lisbon (2003) and specialist training at Dr. Alfredo da Costa Maternity Hospital (2012). She then pursued advanced training in London, obtaining a Diploma in Foetal Medicine from the Foetal Medicine Foundation (2016), and completed her Ph.D. in 2019 researching screening for preeclampsia in twin pregnancies.

Dr. Rodrigues specializes in managing high-risk pregnancies and provides comprehensive prenatal care. Her clinical expertise includes foetal ultrasound across all trimesters, foetal heart scanning, cervical and blood-flow assessments, and invasive procedures such as chorionic villus sampling and amniocentesis for prenatal diagnosis. She has published over 30 articles in national and international journals and presented her research at more than 50 scientific conferences.
