Dr. Ayesha Ahmed

Dr. Ayesha Ahmed is Division Chair of the Psychiatry & Behavioral Health Department at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's Neurological Institute. She trained in the UK's National Health Service system, completing her medical degree at Fatima Jinnah Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan, followed by residency and specialist training in London and Leicester. With 23 years of experience, she has worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist across multiple NHS trusts in the UK before joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Ahmed has broad expertise across psychiatric conditions and subspecialties. She provides consultations in liaison psychiatry (mental health in medical settings), early intervention in psychosis, psychiatric intensive care, community and rehabilitation psychiatry, crisis resolution and home treatment, perinatal mental health, and adult ADHD. She is particularly skilled in managing complex psychiatric presentations and has been involved in national research on bipolar disorder.

Throughout her career, Dr. Ahmed has prioritized teaching medical students and patient education. She is passionate about reducing stigma in mental healthcare and has authored educational resources for trainees.
