Dr. Iqbal Binoj

Dr. Iqbal Binoj is a Staff Physician in the Hospital Medicine Department at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, where he has practised since 2015 as one of the founding physicians. He previously served as Lead Hospital Medicine Consultant at Genesis Medical Center in Iowa, a top-tier US health system. Dr. Binoj trained in internal medicine at Interfaith Medical Center in New York and earned his medical degree from Sri Ramachandra Medical College in Chennai, India.

With over 22 years of inpatient practice, Dr. Binoj specializes in treating complex multisystem diseases that require care from multiple specialists working together. He is often the primary physician coordinating care for non-surgical patients and leads care planning when both surgical and non-surgical treatments are needed. He holds board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine and fellowships with the American College of Physicians and the Society of Hospital Medicine. A particular clinical interest is point-of-care ultrasound (bedside ultrasound), which he uses to improve diagnosis and outcomes in complex cases.

Dr. Binoj is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine and was instrumental in establishing Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's first residency programme. He has held leadership roles including Chair of Utilization Review, Inpatient Operations, and membership on the Diabetes Care Steering Committee and DVT Prevention Task Force. He is passionate about medical education and training the next generation of physicians.
