Dr. Vanesha Varik

Dr. Vanesha Varik is a general and laparoscopic surgery specialist at Medcare in Sharjah, with 16 years of clinical experience. She trained at Goa Medical College and Hospital in India, where she earned her medical degree and master's in general surgery as a gold medallist, followed by specialist training in laparoscopic surgery at Bhatia General Hospital. Before joining Medcare, she worked as a specialist surgeon at Aster Hospital in Dubai and held junior consultant roles at hospitals in Mumbai.

Dr. Varik performs the full range of general surgical procedures using both traditional and keyhole (laparoscopic) techniques. She specialises in hernia repairs (including ventral, inguinal, and incisional hernias), gallbladder removal, appendix removal, bowel resection, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, and breast surgery for benign and cancerous conditions. She also treats emergency conditions such as bowel perforations, peritonitis, and intestinal obstruction, and manages complex wound problems including diabetic foot ulcers, gangrene, and necrotising fasciitis.
