Dr. Mohamad Hosam Shayeb

Dr. Mohamad Hosam Shayeb is a consultant paediatrician with more than 14 years of clinical experience. He trained at Aleppo University in Syria, where he completed his medical degree, master's qualification in paediatrics, and a PhD focused on paediatric endocrinology and growth disorders. He spent 8 years working in major public tertiary healthcare centres in Syria before moving to private practice in Aleppo, and now practises at Mediclinic in Al Ain.

Dr. Shayeb is experienced across all areas of general paediatrics, including newborn care in neonatal intensive care units, child nutrition and growth assessment, paediatric neurology, gastroenterology, infectious diseases, emergency paediatrics, and intensive care. He also manages kidney problems in children, childhood allergies, vaccinations, and lung and heart conditions in young patients. His particular expertise is in paediatric endocrinology—disorders affecting hormones, growth, and metabolism in children—which was the focus of his doctoral research.
