Dr. Amal Louis

Dr Amal Louis is a British-trained interventional cardiologist with nearly 25 years' experience in cardiology. He completed his medical degree from Madras Medical College, Chennai in 1996, followed by 15 years working in the UK National Health Service. He obtained his Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in Cardiology from the UK and completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology from Sheffield. He also served as a clinical lecturer in cardiology at the University of Hull and has conducted research in heart failure and telecardiology.

Dr Louis has performed over 15,000 cardiac intervention procedures. He specializes in complex coronary interventions including treatment of difficult blockages (left main stenting, bifurcation stenting, chronic total occlusions) and uses advanced imaging techniques like optical coherence tomography and intravascular ultrasound. He also treats peripheral artery and vein problems, implants pacemakers and defibrillators for severe heart failure, performs specialized heart ultrasounds, and carries out transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) for patients who cannot have open surgery.

He is a good choice if you need minimally invasive treatment for blocked coronary arteries, heart rhythm device implantation, or valve procedures, particularly when your condition is complex or you are not suitable for open heart surgery.
