Dr. Indira Tahmiscija-Bakija

Dr Indira Tahmiscija is a paediatrician with over 20 years of clinical experience managing children across a broad spectrum of conditions. She graduated from Sarajevo Medical University in 1990 and completed her residency training at the University Hospital in Sarajevo in 1994. She has also worked with humanitarian organisations including UNHCR and Cap Anamur, reflecting her commitment to paediatric care in diverse settings.

Dr Tahmiscija's clinical expertise spans gastrointestinal conditions (including cow's milk protein allergy, reflux, and constipation in children), newborn care and development, infectious diseases, immunisation, and allergic conditions such as asthma, eczema and hay fever. She holds postgraduate qualifications from the UK's Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, including the Diploma in Child Health from Glasgow, and is a member of the Royal College of Paediatricians and Child Health (MRCPCH).

Before joining Mediclinic Arabian Ranches in Dubai, Dr Tahmiscija worked in several Dubai hospitals, where she managed children in both outpatient and inpatient settings, including paediatric intensive care.
