Dr. Sreenath Kuniyil

Dr Sreenath Kuniyil is a consultant neurosurgeon at NMC Specialty Hospital Al Ain with a strong background in both brain and spine surgery. He completed his medical degree in 2009 from Government Medical College Calicut, Kerala, followed by specialist training in general surgery (2015) and neurosurgery (2018). In 2019, he achieved the top ranking in the DNB Neurosurgery examination from the National Board of Examinations and was awarded the President's All India Gold Medal, one of India's highest medical honours. He then completed a fellowship in minimally invasive brain and spine surgery in 2021.

Dr Sreenath specialises in brain and spine tumours, skull base surgery, and keyhole (minimally invasive) procedures for spine problems. He is experienced in endoscopic techniques for both brain and spine conditions, and treats head and spine injuries. He has undertaken advanced training in neuroendoscopy, endoscopic spine surgery, and micro neurovascular techniques across multiple centres in India.

Dr Sreenath was instrumental in establishing the Department of Neurosurgery at IQRAA International Hospital in Kozhikode, where he served as Senior Consultant and Department Head before his current role. He is a member of several professional organisations including the European Association of Neurosurgical Societies, the National Academy of Medical Sciences, and the Neurological Society of India.
