Dr. Aruna G. Varma

Dr. Aruna G. Varma is a consultant anaesthesiologist with over 20 years of experience, practising in Dubai since 2005. She completed her specialist training in Anaesthesia and superspecialist training in Cardiac Anaesthesia at LTMG Hospital, Mumbai, one of India's leading government teaching hospitals. She has headed the Anaesthesia and ICU department at premium private hospitals in Dubai and brings deep expertise across multiple surgical specialties.

Dr. Varma's clinical focus spans cardiothoracic anaesthesia (with a particular interest in fast-track recovery after beating-heart surgery), bariatric anaesthesia, joint replacement procedures, labour analgesia, and paediatric anaesthesia. She has administered anaesthesia for over 3,000 bariatric surgeries, including complex cases such as post-liver transplant sleeve gastrectomy and morbidly obese patients (270 kg). She is experienced in handling all types of critical medical emergencies and was part of a high-volume joint replacement centre where she managed simultaneous bilateral hip and knee replacements in single patients.
